Nathan Tieman graduated from Chapman University in 2003 with a B.F.A. in Film Production, emphasis in Cinematography. Since graduating, he has worked as a Cinematographer on several independent short and feature films. In 2007, cinematographer and co-producer, Nathan Tieman, along with “Beneath the Surface” director and producer won the award for Best Feature Film in the Sacramento Horror Film Festival. Nate has been interviewed and published in the recent book, "Film School and Beyond," by author Darren Alff. Nate's inspiration for film and narrative storytelling derives from the style and success of Cinematographer Roger Deakins and the fun movie-goer experience of the Back to the Future films. Nate would ultimately like to continue shooting stories with substance and creativity while maintaining a working relationship with directors and producers on and off the set.

“Nathan Tieman is a most promising young filmmaker and cinematographer. He has demonstrated great ability with narrative projects and not only being very proficient technically, he brings a strong artistic signature to his work, which is very differentiated and subtle.”

- Jurg Viktor Walther, Cinematographer
